Messiah:Render Notes

Big differences in messiah materials and Lightwave surfacing.

When you bring up a Lightwave model into messiah, the interpretation does funny things to your property values.
Take note and heart because you will be tweaking all your surfaces (AND materials).

1. Messiah material properties work 0.0 -1.0 for most things, some allow for some extra cranking but for the most part
Keep it in that arena.

In LW, if your specularity setting is 44 % and glossiness was 22 % then messiah will bring it in just like that
however it doesn't mean the same thing, YOU NEED to change it to 0.44 and 0.22, if you don't your speculars will
probably not show up.

However, BUMP MAPPING is POWERFUL and usually comes in from LW at 0.0
Don't go to 1.0 for 100%, no-no! More like 0.001. Just do it, trust me..its that powerful.
The setting is in meters, so 1.0 means a 1 meter bump .

The Basic properties IS NOT Taron's BasicShader (yes I wish he would rename it, it's confusing).
BasicShader allows for some badassness in the lighting department. We touch on that with Radiance
later.
